BSL INTERPRETED AND CAPTIONED PERFORMANCES

From time to time we provide BSL interpretation of performances for deaf patrons. An interpreter stands at the side of the stage where they will interpret dialogue as it is spoken using British Sign Language. In a captioned performance, words will appear as they are spoken on a screen positioned above or to the side of the stage.

RELAXED PERFORMANCES

Relaxed performances are adapted for families with children with an Autistic Spectrum Condition, individuals with sensory and communication disorders, those with learning disabilities and anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment.

Upcoming Relaxed Performances

  • There are no further relaxed performances currently scheduled.

If you require accessible seating or a wheelchair space, please call our Box Office Team to book (01753 853 888).

A Relaxed Performance relaxes some of the traditional ‘rules’ and format of theatre-going, for example:

Lighting levels are adjusted to remove any bright flashes and to keep house lights on low throughout the performance

Sound levels are reduced and any loud noises are softened or taken out. Similarly, anything that is potentially frightening in the content is also removed.

You will be free to come and go when you wish, and leaving your seat is ok.

There’s no need to sit quietly, as everyone will be allowed to express themselves and make as much noise as they like.

Additional staff will be on hand to assist in any way we can.

Indeed, the whole experience is designed to reduce anxiety, promote freedom of expression, and ensure a safe and enjoyable time.

Please contact the Box Office for further details on relaxed performances:
