Bag policy

Bag searches may be in operation when you attend a performance at the Theatre Royal and we reserve the right to search all bags and packages brought into the Theatre. Rucksacks, suitcases and large holdalls are not allowed in the Auditorium and all large Bags (measuring over 40cm x 30cm x 15cm) must be left in the cloakroom, situated in the Theatre Shop.

Children

Unless a performance is expressly stated to permit entry to children under the age of four, children under the age of four are not permitted to enter the auditoriums but are welcome in the foyer.

When purchasing a child ticket, all children must be able to sit unaided in their own seats. In the interests of other customer, parents or guardians may be asked to remove noisy or disruptive children.

Children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult of 18+ years at all times whilst in the Theatre.

Front of house and bars

Our bars and front of house areas open one hour before the start of a performance. Relax in one of our bars with a drink or a snack before the show, and don’t forget to beat the queues and pre-order your interval drinks and ice cream.

Food and drink

Our bars are open from one hour before a performance until the end of the interval, stocking a wide range of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, as well as a selection of crisps, nuts and sweets available for purchase. Food and drink purchased externally is not allowed in our Theatre (except water) and we do not allow glass containers to be brought on to the premises.

LATECOMERS

Latecomers will be admitted at the first suitable opportunity as agreed with the Promoter, which may be the interval. For some events, late admission cannot be guaranteed and exchanges or refunds for an alternative performance will not be permitted.
