Our Theatre Directors Jon and Anne-Marie Woodley were proud to be co-producers (Birdsong Productions) on this show for its major debut at the beautiful Wales Millennium Centre in 2016. Only the Brave is a story of hope, bravery and togetherness. It is based on the true story of British soldiers, Major John Howard and Lieutenant Denham Brotheridge, and their wives on the Home Front, in a Second World War tale of incredible unity and courage. With a stunning cast, orchestra, crew and creative team at the wonderful Wales Millennium Centre, this musical sheds light on the immense strength and power of the human spirit at times of great adversity.
Rifco Theatre, who have previously visited Theatre Royal Windsor with productions of Miss Meena and the Masala Queens, Laila the Musical and The Deranged Marriage, have made their latest show Mushy: Lyrically Speaking available to watch online for free on their website (with the opportunity to make a donation to help support artists and the theatre industry).
The show tells the story of schoolboy Musharaf Asghar (Mushy) who shot to fame following his appearance on the Channel 4 reality series, Educating Yorkshire, in his attempts to overcome his speech impediment with the help of his school teacher. The heart-warming play is written by Pravesh Kumar and infused with rap and lyrics by award-winning British rapper Raxstar (Keep It Undercover).
Watch the hit BBC TV series in it’s origin form as a one-woman play. There will also be a special Fleabag Support Fund, which will distribute grants of £2,500 to freelancers working in the UK theatre industry.
Fleabag is also available for rented streaming through Amazon Prime.
