It’s Christmas 1875 and Professor Gabriel Stokes (Maxwell Caulfield) takes lodgings at The Sea House cared for by Mrs Hinchcliffe (Juliet Mills) and Florence (Chipo Kureya), on a desolate stretch of the East Sussex coast.
